My Irish Roots

My maiden name is Barr so I asked my uncle who is somewhat of the family historian for a tidbit about our family and here is what he gave me. Enjoy!

On Grandma Barr's side, I am descended from the Murphy's in County Wexford, there are a lot of them but Rose Murphy is my great great, etc Grandmother and she married a Robert Hampton who was an English soldier oppressing the Irish and they moved to Canada, and then to Wisconsin. On Grandpa Barr's side, I am descended from the Barr's who were originally Scottish and moved to northern Ireland 400 years ago. Lots of Barrs still in northern Ireland and County Donegal.
